Caravaggio, pseudonym of **Michelangelo Merisi **(1571-1610), was an Italian painter.

Trained in Milan and active in Rome, Naples, Malta and Sicily, he acquired great international fame in life and immediately after his death, constituting the current of Caravaggism and exerting a strong influence on 17th century Baroque painting and is today considered one of the most famous representatives of Western art of all times

With a walk in the city center you will have the opportunity to observe the canvases of the controversial artist.

First stop: the church of San Luigi dei Francesi, where three masterpieces by Merisi dedicated to San Matteo are kept. The tour continues in the church of Sant'Agostino where the "Madonna dei Pellegrini" is kept. The third and last work is visible at the Church of Santa Maria del Popolo where it is possible to admire the "Conversion of Saint Paul".
